Thank you Stephen and Katie for an informative interview. The point that Katie made that had the most impact on me was about the importance of singers being able to read music.
The musicianship / theory part of the old lessons was one of my favourite aspects of the course and one of the pieces of basic background knowledge that I am lacking.
I feel that this knowledge opens up so much more scope for a singer, and I’m looking forward to more lessons covering musicianship / theory to come.
This is VERY HELPFUL feedback, Anne and does make a difference in the way future lessons are created. Thank you!
hi Stephen and Katie
I also agree that reading music would be a big help. I don’t read music, but wish I did. I can sit down and figure the notes out but can’t look at a sheet of music and read it. keep the musicianship/theory part of your lessons coming I to enjoy that part of the lesson. Alos keep the interviews they are very informative.
God bless you all Fred
Hi Stephen and kathie,
Thank you so much for the interview. It is really nice to share your knowledge and experience with all of us, that encourage me to keep pushing on the singinhg art.
Thanks, God bless you!
What a great voice she has. Thank you for the interview I really enjoyed listening.
Nice interview.
YES, if ever there was articulation in singing, I heard it today. Wonderful voice, perfect articulation.
Actually I found out that it was more useful than I thought before. Now I pay much attention to my articulation and notice that my singing starts to sound more alive and juicy. Very helpful
Her voice was great. That’s how I want to sing. Her notes are clear and she sang without effort. It was most enjoyable. thank you for this opportunity.
hi stefen and kathie. Wow Kathie’s voice is really great! I hope I could sing like that. Anyway thank you so much for the effort kathie specially for all information you shared with us. It was truly inspiring. I hope to here from you in other lessons that we will have. Thanks and God bless.
I love Katey Brige voice and some day I hope to have that kind of voice control.
Thanks Katey,
Willie
I’ve enjoyed my lesson 2 and notice that I have more breath to hold my notes longer- Wo-w-w seriously wow! I’m looking forward to lesson 3
Also I can’t wait for the confidence factor! I need confidence in my talent.
Very Nice. Great diction. Every word was clear and understood, in a seeming effortless delivery. It was a real pleasure listening to it, it was like being in a live stage performance. Thank you Stephen for providing all these resources to help us grow. May God bless you in all you do.
thank you
Katey Bridge’s interview was great and discussed the importance of pitch, emphasis on certain words in a song and the advantage of being able to read music and it’s positive effect on your singing. Great Interview! Thanks Stephen.
I am a little behind, but I agree that it would be very helpful to read music. Katey has a great voice. Thank, you again Stephen, for sharing such great information.
Beautiful voice and the piano playing was beautiful as well! I plan to relisten again about one of the warm ups being the massaging of the throat. Very important it seems for sopranos.
my gosh, you have an angel’s voice! Thank you so much for sharing your music knowledge with us.You are truly an instpiration!
A wonderful, insightful interview. In particular, Katey supplemented Justin Tissue’s interview by emphasizing expression in singing. I thought it was very helpful to realize that most beginning singers tend to emphasize all of the words in a song equally.
I also found Ketey’s tip on “using more air” very interesting. I’m going to add that to the things I’m doing while performing vocal exercises.
I agree with the above posters about Ketey’s voice — it is absolutely beautiful — such clear tone and wonderful pitch with no strain at all, particularly on the high notes.
Katey, not “Ketey” — I see that I mistyped it twice!
your a very good singer
Excellent interview and beautifully moving songs. Thanks Katey and Stephen!
very informative
Lesson one was great! I liked the introduction to all the key elements you introduced. That tongue position is tricky. Now I’m thinking about it, I expect I’ll catch myself in the middle of picking out supermarket items and everyone will wonder what in the heck I’m smiling about.
Thanks for all the insightful teaching to get started!
The interview with Katey was very good. It’s always good to hear tips from professionals..Thank you!
